Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield
Celebrating our 40th Anniversary throughout 2012!
“Food, glorious food!” is the mainstay of our organization in Ridgefield, CT.
Our mission: Providing nourishing meals to those needing assistance.
Since 1972, we have been preparing and delivering meals to residents who are unable to buy provisions or cook for themselves. Last year, our clients received more than 20,000 handcrafted lunches and dinners made in our pristine stainless steel kitchen.
It’s a busy place! Not only do our volunteer cooks turn fresh ingredients into creative, well-balanced meals, but a front-of-the-house team packs them for a corps of drivers who deliver to some 50 clients throughout Ridgefield.
Our Meals on Wheels is different because we are a totally independent not-for-profit corporation. With no government affiliations, we are able to service any resident, whom we determine to be in need, with an array of satisfying, tasty and nutritious meals.
We rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses and philanthropic organizations who support our mission. After all, food is a basic necessity for life! And, the simple act of bringing a good meal to a housebound person provides nourishment to both body and spirit.
We hope that you will join us in celebrating four decades of Meals on Wheels in Ridgefield!
