Caroll Bancel is Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield’s (MOW) Operations Manager. Caroll has been with MOW since 2005 and is registered dietitian with a B.S. from the University of Connecticut, School of Allied Health Professionals. She has 20 years of experience in health care management and clinical nutrition, and is licensed in Food Service Safety. Caroll plans the weekly menus, does all the ordering and manages the kitchen operations.
Caroll is directly supported by three Kitchen Managers who oversee the preparation of meals and are professional cooks in their own right. Added to this, each is required to be certified by the State of CT in Food Service Safety; they earn this distinction after taking a course and then passing an exam. Joni Karsh is the manager on Mondays, Mary Pat Sexton on Wednesdays and Kathryn Guido on Fridays. Each of these women is in turn supported by a staff of 15 – 16 people who ensure the meals are not only made but packed, labeled and given to the appropriate driver.
